Mardini Cosmetic
Mardini Kozmetik was founded on 15.02.2018 by the famous artist Berdan Mardini, who is admired in Turkey and abroad. Berdan Mardini, who has been passionate about scents and essences since his childhood, turned this passion into an investment in his hometown, Mardin.
Mardini Cosmetics, which manufactures all kinds of cosmetic products as well as rose oil and rose water, also has an interesting feature in terms of its relationship with the historical past of the sector. B.C. Sumerians who ruled between 4000-2000 BC; It has gone down in history as the civilization that pioneered humanity in the fields of writing, language, medicine and astronomy, as well as discovering perfume.
Although Rosa Damascena, with its Latin name used in the production of cosmetic raw materials, was first grown in these lands, it passed to Europe in the historical process. Rosa Damascena returned to Anatolia 100 years ago when this rose breed started to be grown in Isparta. Together with Mardini Cosmetics, Rosa Damascena started to be grown again in Mardin, and the meaningful role of this special plant in the cosmetics industry has gained a new dimension.
Mardini Kozmetik, which initially grew roses and lavender on 900 decares of land, aims to increase this to 2000 decares in the near future. Currently, 112.5 liters of rose oil and 2250 liters of lavender oil are produced from 180 cubic meters of rose water through the distillation process from 450 tons of rose flowers.
Berdan Mardini aimed to provide employment opportunities to many families there by investing in his land within the scope of his social responsibility project. Young people working in rose and lavender fields and factories will thus have the opportunity to build their lives in their hometown, instead of leaving the land they live in with the hope of earning a job.
